The VM540ML cartridge with MicroLine stylus is the flagship model of the 500 series of Audio-Technica's new VM cartridge range. Like all VM cartridges, the VM540ML features dual magnets positioned to match the left and right channels to the stereo disc groove for excellent channel separation and extended frequency response. The cartridge's MicroLine® stylus provides incredibly accurate vinyl reading. The multi-stage stylus resists wear better than other nibs, reducing wear and tear on your records.

In 1962, Hideo Matsushita founded Audio-Technica with the aim of producing high-quality sound for everyone, and created the very first truly affordable phono cartridge, the AT-1, in his small apartment in Shinjuku, Tokyo. 60 years later, with this passion for listening, the company has developed further to design critically acclaimed headphones, turntables and microphones, while remaining a family business and maintaining the belief that high-quality sound should be accessible to everyone.
