Marantz is an American brand specializing in the production of high-end audio equipment, including amplifiers and CD players. The brand was founded in New York in 1952 by Saul Marantz, an engineer with a passion for music and audio. Presentation
The CD6007 CD player is an improved version of the award-winning CD6006 player, with even more specifically selected components and optimized circuitry. Rigid feet suppress unwanted vibrations while the oversized, low-noise power supply powers the player's digital and analog circuitry. The new high-quality AK4490 digital-to-analog converter with two filter options converts digital signals to analog signals. The signals are then sent to the gold-plated sync outputs by Marantz's compact signal amplifier, the HDAM-SA2. We've also included a new remote that also controls the matching PM6007 amplifier. The CD6007 player features a sophisticated new headphone amplifier with headphone amplifier gain adjustment for a wide range of headphones.
Marantz HDAM technology
Marantz developed its own separate circuit boards to replace standard interface boards. These HDAM modules consist of discrete surface-mount elements with short left/right mirror image signal paths. These devices do exactly the same thing as commonly used operational amplifiers, but far outperform them in terms of slew rate and noise level reduction, resulting in more dynamic, precise and detailed sound. The In CD6007 player's proprietary HDAM-SA2 circuit features an improved HDAM module for even more stable power supply. Idle current stability is less affected by power transistor temperatures, allowing audio performance to be maintained even at high level output.
Reference digital/analog conversion
The CD6007 player features new high-resolution digital-to-analog conversion. It is equipped with a reference AK4490 digital-to-analog converter, with two filtering options and which offers a maximum resolution of 192 kHz/24-bit and DSD 5.6 MHz for optimal musical fidelity, with tight bass, mids pleasant and extended, smooth treble for playing CDs and high-resolution formats from USB memory devices.
High current power supply
The audio power supply uses high-current, high-speed Schottky photodiodes and new, improved high-current memory capacitors compared to the previous model. The size of the power supply capacitors has been increased by 120% for greater stability and reduced mains noise during demanding listening sessions.
