The SL-1500C is a complete turntable system designed for a wide range of listeners and audio enthusiasts. This carefully designed turntable is ready to be part of a high-quality listening setup and includes the popular Ortofon 2M Red cartridge. It has a built-in phono pre-amp, compatible with MM cartridges so it can be connected to an audio product that does not have phono input terminals. The SL-1500C also includes a convenient auto-lift function: when the tonearm reaches the end of the record, auto-lift automatically raises the tonearm. This prevents unnecessary wear and tear on your vinyl records and tip.

Technics is a Japanese audio brand established by Panasonic in 1965. Since 1965, Panasonic has produced a variety of hi-fi and audio products under this brand, such as turntables, amplifiers, radio receivers, tape recorders, CD players, digital speakers and pianos. Technics products were available for sale in various countries. For turntables , history really began to be written in 1971, when Technics launched the SL-1100 on the general public market. It was at this time that the Japanese brand entered the legend of Hip Hop music thanks to DJ Kool Herc, the founding father.  

Latest coreless direct drive motor provides stable and high precision rotation

Technologies acquired during the development of the SL-1200 series and the cutting-edge SL-1000R model have been generously integrated into the motorized drive unit, a major feature of this turntable. The unit exclusively accommodates a coreless, single-rotor direct drive motor from the SL-1200GR to provide high rotation smoothness and high accuracy in reading disc signals. The motor optimally controls the inertia mass of the double-layer platter which accommodates the vinyl record thanks to the sound-absorbing rubber coating applied to the entire surface which eliminates unwanted resonances. The die-cast aluminum chassis eliminates any rotation irregularities (cogging). This rigid die-cast aluminum chassis is integrated with a special material consisting of ABS plastic mixed with fiberglass, for a double-layer design. The isolator is composed of a spring and rubber providing optimal vibration damping characteristics. The tonearm is a statically balanced universal S-arm, another Technics signature. The SL-1500C adopts the same gimbal suspension and the same cut-out housing for high-precision bearings as the SL-1200 series models, for perfect sensitivity to initial movement. Its reliability has also been improved by the integration of a removable power cable and gold-plated connection elements for the PHONO and LINE terminals in order to minimize degradation of sound quality.

A complete turntable with integrated phono equalizer and cartridge

To allow you to fully enjoy your analog records, the SL-1500C includes a phono pre-amp and associated cartridge. So, no need to prepare either separately, you can easily connect the SL-1500C to a wide range of audio equipment. The protection structure of the built-in audio equalizer eliminates the effects of external noise or from the power supply. There is also a switch to allow you to turn off the LINE output when not in use. The deck has been designed to carefully eliminate any unwanted effects from the PHONO output. The dedicated power supply for the PHONO output terminal is isolated from that of the LINE output terminal and has been designed to prioritize sound quality by minimizing PHONO signal wiring. Insulated terminals also help prevent wiring errors. The choice of cell fell on the Ortofon 2M RED cell, which is one of the most popular MM cells. The combination of this superior quality cartridge and the exceptional performance of the SL-1500C allows for optimization of the sound quality of vinyl records.
